Moth trapping 10th July 2011
The Radnorshire moth recorders, Pete & Ginny Clarke, have been back and repeated their survey (last year it was in May). This is their brief report, and the list of species is attached.
“The highlight was the Geometrid V-moth, which has not been recorded in Radnor since 1998.
The other strange thing was that normally the highest single species number is usually a Noctuid moth, perhaps Heart and Dart or Large Yellow Underwing, but we had 15 Poplar Hawks !!
We counted about 15 people at one stage, but there may have been more.”
